Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a Neuro Critical Care Unit assignment requiring ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke certification, and TX or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Neuro Critical Care Unit within a hospital setting
• 14 ICU beds with 1:2 patient ratio and 20 Med/Surg beds with 1:5 ratio
• Unit staffed with 1 PCA and 1 unit coordinator
• Uses Meditech documentation system
• 12-hour shifts rotating between 7a-7:30p and 7p-7:30a
• Rotating and every-other-weekend scheduling
• No call requirements
• Floating required as needed per facility floating policy

Requirements

• Active TX RN license or compact license required; temporary licenses not accepted
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required
• NIH Stroke certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
• Experience administering vasopressors required
• Meditech experience preferred
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required (two required for Florida and Missouri candidates)
• No employment gaps of 90+ days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to ICU patients including administration of vasopressors
• Cohesive, supportive unit environment with experienced staff
• Navy scrub top and pants with navy or white scrub jacket required
• Nails must be clean and healthy; hair neat with no extreme styles or colors
• Body art must be covered when feasible; visible piercings other than ears are prohibited
• Must complete Methodist Acknowledgement Form and adhere to attendance policies
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
• Facility has experienced attendance issues, so reliable attendance history is important
