Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a MICU night shift assignment requiring active TX or compact RN license and NIH Stroke certification.

Details

• MICU (Medical ICU) unit assignment
• 13-week contract
• Night shift, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• 36 guaranteed hours
• Floating required per facility floating policy
• Uses Meditech documentation system
• Performs procedures including chest tubes, trach care, GI scopes, intubations, central line and arterial line management, NG tubes, foley catheters, and dressing changes

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required (temporary license not accepted)
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• NIH Stroke certification required
• Minimum 2-3 years of ICU experience required
• Strong critical thinking skills required
• MICU/MSICU background preferred
• IABP and CRRT exposure preferred
• Meditech experience preferred
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to critically ill medical ICU patients
• Badge in and out for each shift and take a full 30-minute lunch break
• Punctuality required for scheduled shifts
• Navy scrub top and pant with navy or white scrub jacket required
• Nails must be clean and healthy; hair neat with no extreme styles or colors
• Facial hair must be clean and neatly trimmed
• Body art should be covered when feasible
• Visible piercings other than ears are prohibited
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates not accepted
