Job Summary
The organization is seeking an ICU (Intensive Care Unit) Nurse in Fargo. This role involves managing critically ill patients across various units, including neuro, cardiac, trauma, medical, and surgical populations. The position requires the ability to independently care for critically ill patients, with experience titrating vasopressor drips and utilizing electronic medical records.

Job Details

  • Location: Fargo, with travel requirements including floating to all critical care departments.
  • Schedule: Day shifts, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA), National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS); North Dakota or compact state registered nurse license; at least 2 years of experience in a large hospital (over 250 beds) with level 1 trauma experience and ICU background; ability to manage vasopressors, sedatives, analgesics, inotropics, antiarrhythmics, and other titrable drips; experience with Epic charting; proficiency in bedside procedures including RSI, EVD placement, Tracheostomy, line placement, and diagnostic tests.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Level 1 or 2 trauma experience with a 250+ bed facility, experience in managing critically ill neuro, cardiac, CT surgery, trauma, medical, and surgical patients.
  • Responsibilities: Management of 1-3 critically ill patients, utilizing equipment such as IABP, EVD, Phillips Patient Monitoring Systems, and others. Assist with bedside procedures and monitor patient status closely.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required.
  • Orientation: Total of 32 hours including hospital orientation, and specific ICU orientations over the first week.
  • Additional Information: Must call in each day prior to shift to receive assignment details; may float to med-surg units if needed; nurse to patient ratio of 1:2; scrub color navy blue; no out-of-state travel restrictions aside from floating requirements.
