GHG Healthcare is seeking a travel nurse RN Critical Care Float Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Phoenix, Arizona.

Opportunity:
RN - ICU Float Pool
Job Details:
• 12-hour shifts available as day shift (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM) or night shift (7:00 PM - 7:30 PM)
• Schedule is set 4 weeks in advance and may be adjusted up to two weeks in advance based on hospital needs
• 4 weekend shifts required per 4-week period; weekends are defined as Saturday and Sunday
• Holiday shifts required based on unit needs
• No on-call requirement; if placed on standby due to low census, response time is 30 minutes
• Must have a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience
• Level 1 trauma center experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred due to high patient acuity and complexity
• Must be a well-rounded ICU nurse comfortable functioning independently when floated to outside areas
• Float pool assignment includes all ICU areas as well as MedSurg/Tele units, with potential float to sister campuses
• ICU Float Cluster includes Tower 2 (medical, surgical, and trauma patients), Tower 4 (cardiothoracic ICU specializing in lung transplants and ECMO), and 4 Neuro (neuro-specific ICU); all ICU units maintain a 1:2 ratio; Tele ratio is 1:4
• Must be proficient with all critical drips
• Must be proficient with all types of respiratory support including vents, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen
• Must be able to read telemetry strips using GE equipment
• Charting completed in Cerner
• All reports completed at the bedside; quality two-person skin assessment required within the first 4 hours of each shift
• Must pass Advanced Dysrhythmia Exam with a score of 80% or higher within 2 attempts prior to contract start
• Must pass Day 1 SIMs Lab, which is pass/fail and includes Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes; maintaining sterile field is critical
• Orientation consists of 2 shifts, with a third shift provided only if needed
• Assignment via GroupMe texting service preferred; assignment provided 30-60 minutes before shift start
• Expectation to be on unit by 7:00 AM or 7:00 PM to attend shift huddle
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or up to 3 shifts for assignments shorter than 13 weeks
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), NIHSS preferred but not required
• BSN not required
• Acute care setting
