Description

American Traveler is seeking a Home Health Physical Therapist with 2+ years of experience and Homecare Homebase/OASIS expertise to serve patients in the Washington DC area.

Details

• Home health setting covering assigned zip codes within the District of Columbia based on staffing needs
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• May be required to float to cover another zip code as needed
• Uses Homecare Homebase (HCHB) and Pointcare EMR systems for documentation
• Mileage reimbursed from first to last patient visit of the day
• Clinicians use personal vehicles and must maintain valid licensure and insurance

Requirements

• BLS certification required
• DC license required if applicable
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience within the last 7 years
• Homecare Homebase/OASIS-E experience required
• Must have completed at least 1 previous travel assignment
• Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment, supporting at least 2 years of experience in the previous 3 years
• Skills in OASIS, gait belt, Hoyer lift, and home exercise program required
• Experience with geriatric and orthopedic patient populations preferred
• Experience with adaptive/assistive devices, body mechanics, pain assessment, and skin integrity assessment preferred
• Experience with COPD and CHF patient care preferred

Additional Information

• Main responsibilities include home-based physical therapy assessment, treatment, and patient/family education
• Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower pay rate
• Candidates must provide a driver's license matching their address to determine local status
• No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment; maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract
• Previous MedStar employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a travel contractor
