Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring CA RN licensure and Trauma Level II experience.

Details

  • Community hospital Emergency Department, combined adult/pediatric setting
  • Trauma Level II designated facility
  • STEMI and Stroke certified facility
  • Patient ratio of 1:4
  • Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 0700-1930
  • Every other weekend required

Requirements

  • Active CA RN license required
  • Minimum 2 years of ED experience required
  • Community hospital experience required
  • Trauma Level II experience required
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS
  • Skilled in triage, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG interpretation
  • Experience managing psychiatric emergencies including acute psychosis, drug overdose, and suicidal patients
  • Proficient in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs
  • Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP and care of ventilated patients
  • Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use
  • Ability to manage and apply splints

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency care across a wide range of conditions including pediatrics, trauma, and psychiatric emergencies
  • Preferred experience with arterial line management, blood product administration, and central line care
  • Preferred neuro-trauma experience including CVA, ICP monitoring, and traumatic brain injury care
  • Preferred experience with gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations
  • Previous charge nurse experience preferred
  • Must reside within a 50-mile radius for local candidate consideration
  • Returning employees must have a minimum 1-year separation before rejoining as a traveler
  • Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract with only 1 holiday request allowed per contract
  • Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas
  • Candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis regardless of prior travel experience
