Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a Level II Trauma community hospital emergency department requiring CA licensure and at least 2 years of ED experience.

Details

  • Work in a General Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric patients
  • Community hospital setting with Trauma Level II designation
  • STEMI and Stroke certified facility
  • 1:4 patient ratio
  • Variable shift start times between 1100-1500, working 3x12-hour Day or Evening shifts
  • Every other weekend required

Requirements

  • Active CA RN license required
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS (TNCC preferred)
  • Minimum 2 years of ED experience required
  • Community hospital experience required
  • Trauma Level II experience required
  • Experience with a broad range of ED skills including pediatrics, respiratory care, cardiac monitoring, neurological emergencies, IV therapy, and orthopedic trauma
  • Skilled in triage, isolation precautions/PPE, and dysrhythmia management
  • Experience managing psychiatric and behavioral health patients preferred
  • Experience with ICP monitoring, neuro-trauma, and traumatic brain injury preferred
  • Experience with arterial line management and blood product administration preferred

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency care across a wide range of adult and pediatric conditions including trauma, respiratory distress, cardiac events, and psychiatric emergencies
  • Previous charge nurse experience preferred
  • Must reside within a 50-mile radius to qualify for local candidate rate
  • Returning staff must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
  • Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract
  • Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
  • First-time travelers considered on a case-by-case basis
