Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position on night shift, requiring at least 1 year of ER experience and multiple advanced certifications.

Details

• General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric patients
• Level II Trauma Center that is also STEMI and Stroke Certified
• Night shift schedule (4x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:00 AM) with option for 36 or 48 hours per week
• 2 weekend shifts required per contract
• Epic charting system experience required
• Floating to like units within scope may be required based on facility needs

Requirements

• Valid KS or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC
• Minimum 1-2 years of ER experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in emergency care across pediatrics, psychiatric, IV therapy, respiratory, neurological, and orthopedic presentations
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and 12-lead EKG acquisition
• Experience managing trauma, gunshot wounds, and multisystem organ dysfunction preferred
• Skilled in triage and isolation precautions/PPE protocols

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive emergency care across a wide range of adult and pediatric conditions including cardiac, respiratory, neurological, psychiatric, and trauma cases
• Perform procedures such as splinting, chest tube management, arterial line management, and procedural sedation monitoring
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility as locals are not accepted
• Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted
