Description

American Traveler is hiring an Emergency Dept RN for an evening shift assignment requiring NY licensure, ACLS/BLS/PALS/NIHSS certification, and at least 1 year of ER experience

Details

  • Combined adult/pediatric general Emergency Department setting
  • Patient ratios of 1:5-6 with mixed/shared acuity levels
  • Evening shift, 3x12 hours (3:00 PM - 3:00 AM)
  • Every other weekend required
  • Floating required when census warrants
  • Epic charting system preferred
  • Scrubs must be a combination of navy and white

Requirements

  • Active NY RN license required in hand
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Minimum 1 year of ER experience required (1.5 years preferred)
  • Epic charting experience preferred
  • Competency in phlebotomy and IV insertion required
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management required
  • Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure required
  • Skilled in blood product administration and central line care/management
  • Experience with continuous IV paralytics, sedation, vasopressors, and emergency medications required
  • Experience with procedural sedation administration and monitoring required
  • CVA (stroke) management experience required
  • Experience with isolation precautions/PPE required
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Experience managing psychiatric holds and suicidal patients preferred
  • Experience applying splints preferred

Additional Information

  • Fast-paced, high-acuity ER environment suited for strong, experienced RNs
  • Responsibilities include obtaining 12-lead EKG/ECG and managing emergency medications
  • Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be considered
  • Minimal RTO requested for this assignment
  • First-time travelers are accepted
  • Previous staff must wait 6 months system-wide before reapplying
