American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a night shift position at a Level II Trauma Center, requiring 2+ years of ER experience and multiple advanced certifications.

Details

  • Work in the Emergency Department of an acute care, Magnet-designated, teaching hospital with a Level II Trauma Center
  • 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
  • Weekend shifts required
  • Patient ratio of 1:4
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • No floating required outside of scope
  • Uses Cerner charting system

Requirements

  • Active CA RN license required
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, MAB, and NIHSS
  • CCRN, CPI, and TNCC certifications preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
  • Community hospital experience required
  • Level II Trauma Center experience required
  • Previous charge nurse experience preferred
  • Proficiency with cardiac monitoring and emergency response
  • Skilled in management of dysrhythmias, IV therapy, and phlebotomy
  • Experience with central line care and management
  • Knowledge of IV vasopressor medications
  • Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
  • Proficient in isolation precautions and PPE use
  • Triage experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience preferred, though candidates with strong experience will be considered

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency care including trauma response, cardiac monitoring, and respiratory management
  • Strict dress code enforced: no facial hair, acrylic nails, unnatural hair colors, visible piercings other than earlobe studs, or exposed tattoos
  • No specific scrub color required, but camouflage or character patterns are not permitted
  • Orientation includes facility modules averaging 3-6 hours depending on specialty
  • Free parking available on-site
  • Local candidates accepted at standard bill rate
  • Previous staff must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a travel employee
  • First-time travelers are accepted, though strong ER experience preferred if lacking travel background
