Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level II Trauma Center, requiring CA RN licensure and prior trauma ER experience.

Details

• ER department within a 412-bed acute care hospital
• Level II Trauma Center setting
• 1:4 patient ratio
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Weekend shifts required
• No floating required
• No on-call requirements
• No block scheduling accommodations
• Charting via Cerner

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of ER experience required (hard stop)
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, MAB, NIHSS
• Preferred certifications: CCRN, CPI, TNCC
• Community hospital experience required
• Level II Trauma Center experience required
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and central line care
• Experience with IV vasopressors and medication administration
• Respiratory skills including BiPAP/CPAP management and ventilated patient care
• Proficient in isolation precautions/PPE and triage
• Any charting system experience accepted
• DOB, RTO, valid state license, certification copies, references, and COVID vaccination status required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide emergency nursing care within a Magnet-designated, teaching hospital environment
• Strict dress code: no facial hair, acrylic nails, unnatural hair colors, visible piercings besides earlobe studs, or hoop earrings; all tattoos must be covered
• Scrubs may be any color except camouflage or character patterns
• Orientation includes facility training modules averaging 3-6 hours
• Local candidates accepted at standard bill rate
• Previous facility staff must have been separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• First-time travelers may be considered with strong relevant experience
• Facility can cancel up to 3 shifts during the 13-week assignment
