Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN with adult ED experience and a NJ or Compact license for a night shift emergency department position.

Details

• Emergency Department setting with 73 beds, including pediatrics, fast track, and a 19-bed rapid decision unit
• May care for holding patients
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• Patient ratios of 1:4-6+, varying based on census and acuity
• Rare floating to Pediatric ED, within skillset only
• Navy blue scrubs required
• EPIC EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active NJ or Compact RN license required
• Certifications required: ACLS, PALS, BLS, NIHSS, and ITTC de-escalation training
• Minimum 1.5 years of Adult ED experience required
• Skilled in central line care/management, medication administration, isolation precautions, triage, and IV therapy/phlebotomy
• Experience with CPAP/BiPAP, ABG interpretation, ventilator management, continuous IV sedation, and IV vasopressors
• Experience in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and multisystem organ dysfunction/failure care
• EPIC charting experience required

Additional Information

• Work in a 665-bed acute care teaching hospital's ED, which sees approximately 95,000 visits annually
• Provide comprehensive emergency care for adult and pediatric populations, including medical, surgical, and psychiatric emergencies
• Dedicated geriatric and pediatric emergency services available
• Winter holiday coverage required: work or provide on-call coverage for 1 of 2, or 2 of 3, winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
• Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
