Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a NJ or compact license and at least 1.5 years of adult ED experience.

Details

• Work in a busy Emergency Department at a 665-bed acute care teaching hospital with approximately 95,000 annual visits
• 73-bed ED including pediatrics, fast track, and a 19-bed rapid decision unit
• May care for holding patients
• Patient ratios of 1:4-6+, varying based on census, patient acuity and staffing
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (19:00-07:30)
• Every other weekend required
• May float to Peds ED on a rare basis, within skillset only
• EPIC charting experience required
• Navy blue scrubs required

Requirements

• Active NJ or Compact RN license required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, and ITTC De-escalation Training
• Minimum 1.5 years of adult ED experience required
• Skilled in central line care/management, medication administration, isolation precautions/PPE, triage, and IV therapy/phlebotomy
• Experience with CPAP/BiPAP, ABG interpretation, ventilator management, continuous IV sedation, and IV vasopressors
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and multisystem organ dysfunction/failure care
• EPIC charting experience required

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care to a combined adult and pediatric patient population, including medical, surgical, and psychiatric emergencies
• Support dedicated geriatric and pediatric emergency services
• Winter holiday coverage required: work or provide on-call coverage for 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
• Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2 weeks
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

• Former employees of the health system must be separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
