Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 3+ years of ER experience and CA licensure.

Details

• Emergency Department setting at a STEMI and Stroke Certified facility
• 13-week assignment on night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (1900-0730)
• Weekend shifts required depending on department needs
• No on-call requirements
• No floating required to other units, though floating within the hospital based on census may occur
• Uses EPIC charting system

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS
• Minimum 3 years of ER experience required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, arterial line management, central line care, and blood product administration
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilated patient care, and ABG interpretation
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience with triage and isolation precautions/PPE
• One professional reference required within the past 2 years
• Current Nursys report required, pulled within 2 weeks of consideration

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across a range of conditions including trauma, cardiac, neurological, and pediatric cases
• Manage patients with CVA, seizures, shock/trauma, and head injuries
• Administer procedural sedation and IV vasopressors as needed
• First-time travelers accepted if they have 3-5 years of ER experience
• Previous permanent staff at this facility are not eligible to apply
• Time off requests must be pre-approved and submitted for consideration in advance; no additions permitted afterward
• Local candidates accepted at a lower rate
