Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an Emergency Department position requiring 2.5+ years of high-volume Level II trauma center experience and a CA RN license.

Details

• Level II Trauma Center with a combined General Emergency Department serving both adult and pediatric patients
• Pediatric Emergency Department, STEMI Certified, and Stroke Certified facility
• High patient volume with over 90,000 annual ER visits
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (1900-0730)
• Weekend shifts required per departmental needs
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating within the hospital based on census
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS (CPI and TNCC preferred)
• Minimum 2.5 years of ER experience in a large Level II trauma center required
• High-volume ER experience with significant patient turnover required
• Epic charting experience required
• Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, arterial line management, blood product administration, and central line care
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilated patient care, and ABG interpretation
• Experience with continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation administration/monitoring
• Experience managing dysrhythmias and interpreting cardiac monitoring
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and triage
• Ortho trauma experience required
• 1 professional reference required (within 2 years)
• Current Nursys report required (pulled within 2 weeks of consideration)

• First-time travelers accepted with required 2.5 years of large Level II trauma center experience
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
• Previous permanent staff of the facility are not eligible for consideration
• RTO requests must be pre-approved by the department manager and submitted with the candidate profile
• Holiday RTO is not guaranteed and will be reviewed separately closer to the holiday season
• Care for shock/trauma cases including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations
• Care for neurological emergencies including CVA, ICP monitoring, neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury
• Care for pediatric emergencies including head injury and near drowning
