Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2+ years of ED experience and AZ or compact RN licensure.

Details

  • Emergency Department setting with float requirement between ED and CDU (Observation Unit)
  • 1:4 patient ratio
  • Evening shift, 4x12 hours from 14:00-02:00
  • Every other weekend and holidays required
  • Blocked scheduling cannot be guaranteed
  • Orientation held every Monday
  • Meditech charting system, experience preferred but not required

Requirements

  • Active AZ or compact RN license required
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC (ESI preferred)
  • Minimum 2 years of ED experience required
  • Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
  • Skilled in pediatric, psychiatric, respiratory, neurological, and shock/trauma emergency care
  • Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and emergency medication administration
  • Proficient in triage, EKG interpretation, and orthopedic splinting
  • Two professional references required for consideration
  • PDF copies of driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency care across a wide range of adult and pediatric conditions including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, and psychiatric emergencies
  • Facility is a STEMI and Stroke Certified center
  • First-time travelers accepted if they have more than 2 years of ED experience, with a 12-hour orientation
  • Locals and first-time travelers accepted at the same rate
  • Travel pairs accepted
  • Former permanent employees must wait 12 months before returning as travelers
  • RTO should be kept to a minimum and included at time of consideration
  • Holiday coverage required
