Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring AZ or compact license and at least 2 years of ED experience.

Details

  • Work in a General Emergency Department (Combined Adult/Pediatric) with float responsibilities between ED and CDU (Observation Unit)
  • Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 10:00-22:30
  • Patient ratio of 1:4
  • Uses Meditech charting system, experience preferred but not required
  • Orientation held every Monday, approximately 12 hours
  • Holiday coverage required
  • Every other weekend required

Requirements

  • Active RN license (AZ or Compact) required
  • Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC (ESI preferred)
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
  • Community and teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Trauma Level I and II experience preferred
  • Skilled in emergency care across pediatric, psychiatric, respiratory, neurological, cardiac, and trauma presentations
  • Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and management of dysrhythmias
  • Two professional references required for consideration
  • Copy of driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency care across a wide range of adult and pediatric conditions including trauma, cardiac, neurological, respiratory, and psychiatric cases
  • Perform triage, isolation precautions/PPE protocols, and 12-lead EKG interpretation
  • Manage and apply splints and assist with ortho trauma care
  • First-time travelers accepted if they have more than 2 years of ED experience
  • Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as travelers
  • Travel pairs accepted
  • Former permanent employees must wait 12 months before returning as travelers
  • RTO must be minimal and included at time of consideration
