Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN with strong pediatric ED skills for a fast-paced, high-acuity ER setting.

Details

• Main Emergency Department treating combined adult and pediatric patients across all age groups, from neonates to geriatrics
• 1:4 patient ratios maintained across days, nights, and weekends
• Evening shift schedule (3x12 hours, 15:00-3:30)
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Epic charting system preferred but other EMR experience accepted

Requirements

• Active AZ or compact RN license required in hand to apply
• Minimum 3 years of ED experience required
• Strong PEDS ED skillset required; PEDS ED experience strongly preferred, though strong PEDS experience in a mixed ED setting is acceptable
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, ENPC, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC
• Preferred certifications: CPI, PCAR
• Required skills include dysrhythmia interpretation/management, blood product administration, phlebotomy, IV starts, continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, procedural sedation administration, CPAP/BiPAP management, care of ventilated patients, isolation precautions/PPE, and triage
• Preferred experience in Level I Trauma Center settings, arterial line management, central line care, neurological trauma, ortho-trauma, head injury, near drowning, spinal cord injury, ABG interpretation, gunshot wounds, and traumatic amputation
• Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across a broad patient population including trauma, pediatric, and general ED cases
• Local candidates may be considered, but must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rate
• Blackout dates for requested time off include 12/24-12/25
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience are all preferred but not required
