Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN with a minimum of 2 years of ER experience and an Ohio or compact RN license for a night shift assignment.

Details

• Work in a general Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric patients
• Level I Trauma Center with STEMI and stroke certification
• Patient ratio of approximately 1:3.5
• Uses EPIC for documentation and Pyxis for medication dispensing
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
• Float required
• Weekend rotation every other or every third weekend

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI
• Preferred experience in a Level I Trauma Center, stroke-certified, and STEMI-certified facility
• Must be comfortable with triage, dysrhythmia interpretation, emergency medications, procedural sedation, ventilated patients, trauma, psych holds, and pediatric emergency care
• Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, arterial line management, blood product administration, and central line care preferred
• Experience with continuous IV sedation/paralytics, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation monitoring
• Ability to obtain 12-lead EKG/ECG and manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager/director or supervisor; charge RN acceptable as second reference; no coworker references accepted

• Provide emergency nursing care across a wide range of acute and critical conditions including trauma, cardiac, and pediatric emergencies
• 36 hours of orientation provided
• Navy scrubs required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• RTO must be submitted with the application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Former employees eligible for travel assignments after 6 months away from the facility
• Current employees are not eligible for travel assignments at this health system
• Ohio fingerprinting process must be completed promptly after contract signing; candidates outside Ohio may need to travel or complete a mailed fingerprinting packet
