Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a night shift assignment requiring MD or compact RN licensure and at least one prior travel assignment.

Details

  • Emergency Department setting treating combined adult and pediatric patients
  • Approximately 150 visits per day with a 1:4 patient ratio
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
  • 36 hours per week over a 13-week assignment
  • On-call required every other weekend and holiday rotation as necessary
  • Clinicians will be trained on the unit before being expected to work charge

Requirements

  • Active MD or compact RN license required
  • BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications required
  • CPI, MAB, and TNCC certifications preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of ED experience within the last 7 years required
  • Must have completed at least 1 previous travel assignment
  • Must have worked within the past 8 months in an ED setting with at least 125 visits/day
  • Experience in charge and triage roles required
  • Skilled in IV starts and phlebotomy required
  • Cerner charting experience preferred
  • Previous charge and preceptor experience preferred

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency medication administration
  • May come into contact with COVID-19 patients
  • Scrubs not provided; navy blue scrub color required
  • Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower rate
  • Former MedStar employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
  • RTO limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract and not permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
