Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a night shift position requiring at least one prior travel assignment and a compact or MD RN license.

Details

  • Work in a combined adult/pediatric General Emergency Department
  • Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), 36 hours per week
  • Patient ratio of 1:4
  • Approximately 150 patient visits per day
  • Call required every other weekend and holiday rotation as necessary
  • Cerner charting system experience preferred

Requirements

  • Active RN license (Compact or MD) required
  • Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS required; CPI, MAB, and TNCC preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience required within the last 7 years
  • Must have completed at least one previous travel assignment
  • Experience in a similarly sized and volume ED required, with recent work in the past 8 months in an ED with at least 125 visits/day
  • Skilled in charge and triage duties, IV starts, and phlebotomy required
  • Skilled in central line care/management, medications, and emergency medications
  • Continuous IV sedation skills preferred
  • Previous charge and preceptor experience preferred

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency care to a combined adult/pediatric patient population, including triage, cardiac monitoring, and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
  • Clinicians will be trained on the unit before being expected to work independently in charge
  • Scrubs are not provided; navy blue scrubs required
  • May come into contact with COVID-19 patients
  • Local candidates within 60 miles are accepted at a lower rate
  • Previous MedStar employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
  • No more than 7 days of requested time off allowed per 13-week contract, with no RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
