Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN with Level I Trauma experience for a 36-hour night shift assignment requiring TX or compact RN license and prior travel experience.

Details

  • Level I Trauma Center Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric populations
  • 36-room unit with a 1:4 patient ratio
  • 36-hour night shift schedule (3x12 hours)
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Facility is STEMI and Stroke certified

Requirements

  • Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC
  • Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience required
  • Prior travel experience required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Preferred experience with IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, and blood product administration
  • Preferred experience managing ventilated patients, BiPAP/CPAP, and ABG interpretation
  • Preferred experience with IV vasopressors, procedural sedation, and continuous IV sedation
  • Preferred neuro/trauma experience including CVA, ICP monitoring, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury
  • Preferred experience with shock/trauma cases including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations
  • Preferred pediatric trauma experience including head injury and near-drowning
  • Preferred experience with cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation and management
  • Preferred charge nurse, teaching hospital, community hospital, and LTAC experience

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency care across a wide range of trauma, cardiac, neurological, and pediatric cases
  • Perform triage and apply isolation precautions/PPE protocols
  • Support ortho trauma cases as needed
  • Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
  • Previous perm staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler
  • No travel pairs or groups accepted
  • RTO must be submitted at time of consideration, with no more than 3 days auto-approved and none during the first week of orientation
