Description

American Traveler is hiring an ER RN for a Level I Trauma Center requiring 2+ years of ER experience and travel experience.

Details

• Level I Trauma Center Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric population
• 36 rooms within the unit
• Day shift schedule of three 12-hour shifts weekly (7:00 AM-7:00 PM)
• 1:4 patient ratio
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active TX or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC
• Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
• Prior travel experience required
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilator patient care, ABG interpretation, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, triage, and isolation precautions/PPE
• Experience with neurological emergencies including CVA, neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury preferred
• Experience with shock/trauma cases including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations preferred

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care in a Level I Trauma Center setting with exposure to STEMI and stroke certified protocols
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted for the travel position
• Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties are not accepted for this contract
• Former staff must wait at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of consideration
• No more than 3 days of requested time off will be auto-approved, and none during the first week of orientation
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted for this position
