Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2+ years of ER experience and prior travel assignment history.

Details

• General Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric patients from infants to geriatrics
• 46-bed unit with average daily census of 135 and a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 19:00-7:00
• Every other weekend required unless otherwise specified
• Floating possible to sister campus
• No call requirements
• Uses Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR systems

Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required, first-time travelers will not be considered
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (NIHSS preferred)
• Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy and central line care/management required
• Cardiac monitoring experience including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with IV vasopressor administration
• Proficient in isolation precautions/PPE and triage
• Two supervisory references (Manager level or above) strongly preferred

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across a wide patient population from infants to geriatrics
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, all RTO must be finalized at time of submission
• No RTO can be requested during orientation week
• Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)
• No schedule or shift change requests permitted once assignment is confirmed
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Previous Piedmont employees must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before returning as a traveler
