Description:
The Emergency Department serves a diverse patient population from infants to geriatrics.
The nurse will provide care as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4, with an average daily census of 135 patients.
Experience with Epic and Pyxis systems is preferred.
Floating to a sister facility may be required but call requirements are not applicable.
If one major holiday occurs during the assignment, the traveler is expected to work it.
If two major holidays occur, the traveler is expected to work both.
The team benefits from interdisciplinary support, including physical therapy and respiratory services.
The daily census typically averages around 135 visits, distributed across 46 rooms.
A maximum of 7 days of time off may be requested, finalized at the time of submission.
No time off requests can be made during the orientation week.
All compliance documents must be completed before the start of the contract.
Nurse will engage in various emergency procedures and provide critical care as needed.
Skills required include management of venous access devices, triage, and dysrhythmia interpretation.
