Description

American Traveler is hiring an ER RN for a 12-week trauma emergency department assignment requiring TN or compact RN license and prior ED experience preferred.

Details

• Emergency Department-Trauma unit setting
• 12-hour day shifts from 06:45-19:15
• Care for patients with medical, surgical, cardiac, neurological, psychiatric, pediatric, and trauma-related emergencies
• Perform triage, rapid assessment, and stabilization of acutely ill and injured patients
• Assist with emergency procedures including CPR, trauma resuscitation, intubation, and wound care
• Operate cardiac monitors, defibrillators, infusion pumps, and ventilators
• Document care in the electronic health record

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
• Current BLS certification (AHA) required
• ACLS certification (AHA) required
• PALS certification (AHA) may be required
• TNCC certification may be preferred or required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification may be required
• Prior emergency department, critical care, or acute-care experience preferred
• Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start

Additional Information

• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, respiratory therapists, and lab staff as part of the care team
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge instructions
• Participate in emergency preparedness and quality-improvement initiatives
