Description
American Traveler is hiring an ER RN for a 12-week trauma emergency department assignment requiring a TN or compact RN license and prior emergency department, critical care, or acute-care nursing experience.
Details
- Emergency Department-Trauma unit setting
- Care for medical, surgical, cardiac, neurological, psychiatric, pediatric, and trauma-related emergencies
- 12-hour shifts from 10:00-22:30
- 12-week assignment length
- Operate and monitor emergency equipment including cardiac monitors, defibrillators, infusion pumps, and ventilators
Requirements
- Active TN or compact RN license required
- BLS certification (AHA) required
- ACLS certification (AHA) required
- PALS certification (AHA) may be required
- TNCC certification may be preferred or required
- NIH Stroke Scale certification required
- Ascension MOAB certification required
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
- Prior emergency department, critical care, or acute-care nursing experience preferred
- Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start
- Current license and primary source verification required within 30 days prior to start
Additional Information
- Perform rapid patient assessments and triage based on severity and urgency
- Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, neurological status, and changes in patient condition
- Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and other ordered treatments
- Assist with emergency procedures including CPR, trauma resuscitation, intubation, and wound care
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary healthcare team members
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge instructions
- Document accurately and timely in the electronic health record
- Follow infection-control and medication-safety practices
- Participate in emergency preparedness and quality-improvement initiatives
- Must possess a US Social Security Number and provide a US home address
- Radius rule applies allowing local candidates consideration at a reduced rate
- First-time travelers may be considered given qualifying experience
