  • Unit Type: Progressive Care Unit / Stepdown
  • Shift: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
  • Hours per Week: 36
  • Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,940 - $2,040
  • Contract Duration: 13 weeks
  • Orientation: 36 hours
  • Scheduling: Rotating weekdays, weekends, and holidays; call required; floating within the organization as needed
  • Weekend Commitment: 4 shifts every 4 weeks

Job Requirements

  • Active RN license in hand at time of submission
  • At least 1 year of recent PCU RN, stepdown nursing, or similar acute care experience required
  • BLS and ACLS required
  • Experience with Epic charting preferred
  • Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to care for complex adult patients
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and float as needed
  • Two professional references required, including one manager, director, or formal supervisor reference
  • Education from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program preferred

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality patient care to adult patients in a Progressive Care Unit setting
  • Monitor telemetry, assess changing patient conditions, and respond quickly to clinical needs
  • Manage patients requiring BiPAP, CPAP, HFNC, tracheostomy care, and ventilatory support
  • Administer blood products, IV medications, insulin drips, and cardiac drips per protocol
  • Perform central line, PICC line, peripheral IV, and chest tube care
  • Interpret dysrhythmias, ABGs, and telemetry trends to support timely interventions
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to provide safe, coordinated patient care
  • Support rapid response and code situations when needed
  • Maintain accurate documentation and follow unit workflows in Epic
