Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ER Holding Nights position requiring OH or compact RN license and prior ER experience.

Details

  • ER Holding unit within a hospital setting
  • Cares for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
  • Patient ratio of 1:3
  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
  • 36 hours per week over a 13-week assignment
  • Epic charting system preferred

Requirements

  • Active OH or compact RN license required at time of consideration
  • Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • ER experience required in work history
  • ER observation/holding or MS/Tele experience also required (MS/Tele, Tele, or PCU/Stepdown experience acceptable)
  • Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
  • 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a manager/director or supervisor and the second from a charge RN or higher (no coworker references accepted)

Additional Information

  • Provide nursing care for patients held in the ER pending inpatient bed availability
  • Skills preferred include cardiac telemetry monitoring, arterial line management, ventilator care, chest tube management, and management of neurological and orthopedic trauma patients
  • Experience with cardiac and vasoactive drip management, procedural sedation monitoring, and wound care preferred
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate
  • Former employees eligible for a travel assignment after 6+ months away from the facility
  • Current employees are ineligible to work as travelers at this health system
  • RTO must be submitted with contract and limited to 7 days or less
  • Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract due to strict compliance deadlines
