Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER Charge RN for a night shift assignment requiring at least 2 years of ED charge experience and Cerner proficiency.

Details

  • Work in a multi-function Emergency Department serving geriatric, pediatric, and psychiatric patient populations
  • Candidates should be comfortable working across all ED patient populations
  • Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-07:30
  • Every other weekend required
  • Every other holiday required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Uses Cerner EMR system

Requirements

  • Active RN license (MD state license or Compact) required
  • Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS
  • ENCP and TNCC certifications preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of ED Charge RN experience required
  • Additional experience required in Stroke and TNK administration
  • Cerner EMR experience required
  • Must have completed at least one prior travel assignment
  • Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum 80% overall score and 100% on lethal rhythms
  • Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs, respiratory care, and administration of emergency medications
  • Preferred skills include blood product administration, central line care/management, care of ventilated patients, procedural sedation administration/monitoring, and triage

Additional Information

  • Serve as Charge RN within a fast-paced, multi-function Emergency Department
  • Responsibilities include managing patient flow and providing care across geriatric, pediatric, and psychiatric ED patients
  • No off-cycle orientation available for this start date
  • Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower pay rate
  • RTO requests are limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract and are not permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
  • Candidates with previous employment at this health system must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
  • First-time travelers may be considered only if they have strong Cerner experience and an otherwise strong professional profile
