Job Summary
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse on the location of the healthcare provider. This role involves delivering patient care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The ER Nurse will be responsible for administering medications, monitoring patient responses, guiding ancillary personnel, and maintaining high standards of professional nursing practice within hospital policies. The position requires a proactive approach to patient safety, documentation, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Rotating shift, 12-hour shift times, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; at least 1 year recent Emergency Room (ER) nursing experience; current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts; Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required and must be maintained; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification required and must be maintained; demonstrated skills in I.V. administration, IV starts, ventilator care, and telemetry monitoring required; successful passage of Pharmacology exam and Basic Arrhythmia exam required.
- Preferred Qualifications: Certification in Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred; completion of an approved de-escalation Certification Course preferred.
- Additional Information: The role involves providing clinical care in the emergency setting, participation in staff meetings, and adherence to safety, blood, and body fluid policies. Ongoing professional development and community representation are expected. The position is suitable for RNs with recent ER experience seeking a rotating schedule in a dynamic environment.
