Emergency Department RN Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of recent Emergency Department or Emergency Room nursing experience
• Active Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in New York
• Experience caring for multiple patients in a high-acuity emergency care environment
• Strong nursing assessment, prioritization, critical-thinking, and communication skills
• Current professional resume and successful completion of required license, employment, background, and health clearances
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and meet the 36-hour weekly schedule

Emergency Department RN Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and promptly identify changes in patient condition
• Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to patients presenting with emergent and urgent conditions
• Prioritize and manage care for multiple patients while maintaining an approximately 1:5 assignment ratio
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with clinical standards and provider orders
• Monitor patient responses to interventions and communicate significant findings to the healthcare team
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, ancillary departments, patients, and families
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, reassessments, and discharge or admission planning in the electronic health record
• Support efficient patient flow, safe transitions of care, and a positive patient experience throughout the ED visit
