Emergency Department RN Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in New York
• At least 1 year of recent emergency department or emergency room nursing experience
• Experience providing patient care in a high-acuity, fast-paced emergency setting
• Strong clinical assessment, prioritization, triage, and critical-thinking skills
• Current resume and professional references
• Ability to complete required facility competency and screening requirements

Emergency Room Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Assess, triage, and provide nursing care to patients presenting with urgent and emergent conditions
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Monitor patient status, recognize changes in condition, and escalate concerns promptly
• Perform and document ongoing nursing assessments, interventions, and patient responses
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary emergency care team to coordinate timely treatment
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, follow-up care, and discharge instructions
• Support a safe, organized, and efficient emergency department environment during overnight operations
