Job Summary
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse located on the Central California Coast. This position involves providing nursing care, including triage, treatment, and discharge for Emergency Department patients ranging from newborns to geriatrics. The role requires a current Registered Nurse (RN) license and certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).

  • Required Qualifications: Associate Degree (A.S.) or equivalent (required), Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (preferred), current RN license in the state of practice (required), Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor (required), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from approved vendor (required), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from approved vendor (required), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC): required within 6 months of hire or transfer, one year in acute care experience (required).
  • Schedule: Night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Additional information: Completes accurate triage assessments and notifies emergency physicians of abnormal signs or symptoms. Reviews and completes patient orders promptly, provides medication side effects education, and recognizes symptoms of cardiac or respiratory distress. Demonstrates proficiency in routine nursing skills including medication administration, intravenous therapy, care of indwelling devices, and use of medical equipment. Interprets ECG rhythms and manages care during life-threatening emergencies, including Code Blue, Code Stroke, Sepsis, and Trauma Activations. Maintains accurate and timely documentation and performs safety and quality control checks. Collaboration with inpatient units is required for admitting patients from the ED. Performs other relevant duties as assigned.
