Job Summary
Emergency Room (ER) specialty nurse position in a busy Level III trauma center located in Puyallup, Washington. The role involves providing high-quality emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population, including trauma, sepsis, COVID-19, stroke, and mental health cases. The position offers an opportunity for first-time travelers to gain experience in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Job Details
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Shifts are typically worked in week-long blocks, with schedules provided three weeks in advance. Weekends and major holidays may vary based on unit needs.
- Required Qualifications: Active certifications including BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, CPI or MOAB. A minimum of 2 years of recent emergency department experience. Valid support skills such as cardiac rhythm interpretation, IV skills, and knowledge of ED medications. Recent experience with EPIC electronic health record system required.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with EPIC, supportive roles such as support on the unit, ER tech duties, and telemetry competency. Ability to complete and pass telemetry competency prior to start, graded by SimpliFi Compliance.
- Additional Information: The role involves assisting with various procedures, patient monitoring via telemetry, and charting using EPIC. Orientation includes badge issuance, EPIC training if needed, and shadowing preceptors. The facility offers a supportive environment with social work services, security, pharmacy, and house supervision available 24/7. Parking is free, and scrubs can be any professional color.
