Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) for a day shift position. This role involves providing direct patient care in a fast-paced emergency department. The schedule includes rotating weekends and may require some evening shifts as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members in patient care.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to approved nursing techniques, policies, procedures, and state laws.
• Document patient care in accordance with established standards.
• Perform assessments, plan, intervene, and evaluate patient care.
• Develop, initiate, and execute individualized patient care plans as prescribed by physicians or clinic policy, including patient and family education.
• Participate in departmental or unit performance improvement efforts, including shared governance initiatives.
• Provide clinical expertise and guidance to support the patient’s longitudinal care plan across units and departments.
• Utilize critical thinking to ensure patient safety and enhance the patient experience, escalating issues as necessary through the appropriate chain of command.
• Engage in the professional nursing continuum process, unit practice activities, and peer review processes.

Qualifications

• Current Active Wisconsin RN Licensure
• BLS Certification
• ACLS Certification
• PALS Certification
• NIHSS Certification
• TNCC or TNS Certification preferred

Experience

A minimum of less than 1 year of experience in an emergency room setting is required.

Additional Information

Holiday coverage is required for this position. Candidates should be prepared to adjust schedules for the needs of the department.
