- Position Description:
The ER Nurse practices independently, demonstrating awareness of all relevant aspects of each situation. Provides routine and complex care, with the ability to develop long-range plans. Continues to develop the ability to manage clinical contingencies, makes appropriate assignments, and delegates to other care providers to help manage clinical situations. - Responsibilities:
Meets expectations of the applicable American Nurses Association (ANA) standards of practice by utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families according to their level of practice. Administers medications and treatments using appropriate protocols, monitors for side effects and treatment effectiveness, documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided. Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and caregivers; identifies issues and resources. - Required Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification, current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification, current Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification, RN License in the state of Texas or a compact license, and one year of experience in a related nursing specialty. - Schedule:
Night shift from 6 PM to 6 AM, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week. - Additional Information:
All newly hired experienced Registered Nurses must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire. New hires are precepted by designated trained staff, and onboarding requirements are validated through competency completion and an emergency department-specific competency validation. Completion of all annual competency verification requirements is required. - Position Details:
This is a full-time, night shift position with a start date of 11/01/2026 and an end date of 01/30/2027. No experience in the related nursing specialty is required beyond the minimum.
