Job Summary
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse in an acute care healthcare facility. This full-time position involves providing comprehensive emergency nursing care, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation, in a fast-paced clinical environment. The role requires independent practice with a focus on managing both routine and complex patient needs.
Job Details
- Schedule: 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA only), current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (AHA only), current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (AHA only), current Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification, RN License in state of Texas or compact license
- Preferred Qualifications: One year of experience in the emergency nursing specialty preferred
- Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients
- Administer medications and treatments following appropriate protocols while monitoring for side effects and treatment effectiveness
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
- Educate patients, family members, and caregivers, addressing their learning needs and resources
- Make appropriate assignments and delegate tasks to other care providers to help manage clinical situations
- Additional Information:
- All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurse Orientation within the first 30 days of hire
- Newly licensed RNs may participate in a residency program or other orientation processes, with competency validation documented through the onboarding software
- Completion of all annual competency verification requirements
