Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) – Rapid Response Travel Contract in Conroe, Texas

Join a fast-paced Emergency Department team as a Travel Registered Nurse (RN) in Conroe, Texas. This six-week travel nursing contract offers the opportunity to provide high-quality emergency care in a 30-bed emergency department with eight additional hall beds. Care for a diverse patient population in a collaborative, team-oriented environment near Lake Conroe and the greater Houston area.

Emergency Department Travel RN Job Details

• Location: Conroe, Texas
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,250–$2,370
• Start Date: September 28, 2026
• Contract Duration: 6 weeks
• Schedule: 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour shifts; day or night availability
• Weekend Requirement: Typically every other weekend
• Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:4
• Healthcare Setting: 30-bed Emergency Department with 8 additional hall beds
• Dress Code: Royal blue scrubs

Travel RN Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Texas
• At least 1 year of recent Emergency Department (ED) or rapid response nursing experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications
• Ability to provide compassionate, empathetic care in a high-acuity emergency nursing environment
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, assessment, and prioritization skills
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Experience with electronic medical records; Meditech experience is helpful

Emergency Department RN Responsibilities

• Provide rapid patient assessment, triage support, and evidence-based nursing care to patients presenting to the Emergency Department
• Monitor patients with acute and complex conditions and promptly identify changes in clinical status
• Perform IV starts, blood draws, cardiac monitoring, moderate sedation support, and other emergency nursing interventions
• Assist with urgent therapies and procedures, including thrombolytic medication administration as ordered
• Operate and monitor equipment such as IV pumps, cardiac monitors, ventilators, BiPAP/CPAP, rapid infusers, and portable EKG machines
• Collaborate with providers, paramedics, technicians, and fellow nurses to support efficient patient flow and safe patient outcomes
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, responses to treatment, and care plans in the electronic medical record
• Promote a calm, respectful, and patient-centered experience for patients and families
