Emergency Room RN Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Texas
• At least 1 year of emergency department or acute care nursing experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications
• Certifications must be included in the submission packet
• Strong clinical judgment, compassion, and empathy
• Ability to work effectively as a team player in a high-acuity emergency care environment
• Comfort with cardiac monitoring, IV access, blood draws, and emergency interventions

Emergency Department RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, timely, and compassionate nursing care to emergency department patients
• Rapidly assess and triage patients, identify changes in condition, and prioritize care according to acuity
• Perform IV starts, blood draws, cardiac monitoring, and medication administration
• Assist with moderate sedation, thrombolytic therapy, and other emergency procedures as indicated
• Monitor patients receiving respiratory support, including BiPAP and CPAP
• Operate and monitor emergency care equipment, including IV pumps, cardiac monitors, ventilators, rapid infusers, and portable EKG equipment
• Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary team during rapid response and emergency situations
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the Meditech EMR
• Promote a supportive, organized, and patient-focused emergency care environment
