Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level III trauma center, requiring at least 2 years of ED experience and multiple advanced certifications.

Details

Level III trauma center emergency department with 48 beds plus flex space
Patient ratios of 4:1 in the main ED and 6:1 in Fast Track
Team nursing and pod system with dedicated social worker and unit educator support
Shift schedule of 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
Minimum of two weekends required per schedule
No call requirements
No floating requirements
Uses Cerner EHR
Equipment includes Zoll defibrillator, Level One blood transfuser, QinFlow blood warmer, Hospira Plum360, Freestyle and iStat POC testing, and ultrasound-guided IV placement
Treats adult patient population including ESRD, cirrhosis, COPD, and psychiatric cases

Requirements

Active RN license (NM or Compact) required
BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC (AHA-issued) certifications required
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, with ED experience preferred
ADN required for RN education
Must have skills in trauma, stroke, STEMI, sepsis, and moderate sedation care

Additional Information

Provide emergency care for a wide range of conditions including substance abuse disorders, psychological disorders, COPD, CHF, abdominal pain, and chest pain
Various Trauma Level I, II, and III cases may be flown into the facility due to its regional location
Supports a 198-bed hospital offering medical, surgical, and rehabilitation services along with specialty units
First-time travelers may be considered for this position
