Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level III trauma center, requiring at least 2 years of ED experience and multiple advanced certifications.

Details

  • Level III trauma center emergency department with 48 beds plus flex space
  • Patient ratios of 4:1 in the main ED and 6:1 in Fast Track
  • Team nursing and pod system with dedicated social worker and unit educator support
  • Shift schedule of 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Minimum of two weekends required per schedule
  • No call requirements
  • No floating requirements
  • Uses Cerner EHR
  • Equipment includes Zoll defibrillator, Level One blood transfuser, QinFlow blood warmer, Hospira Plum360, Freestyle and iStat POC testing, and ultrasound-guided IV placement
  • Treats adult patient population including ESRD, cirrhosis, COPD, and psychiatric cases

Requirements

  • Active RN license (NM or Compact) required
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC (AHA-issued) certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, with ED experience preferred
  • ADN required for RN education
  • Must have skills in trauma, stroke, STEMI, sepsis, and moderate sedation care

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency care for a wide range of conditions including substance abuse disorders, psychological disorders, COPD, CHF, abdominal pain, and chest pain
  • Various Trauma Level I, II, and III cases may be flown into the facility due to its regional location
  • Supports a 198-bed hospital offering medical, surgical, and rehabilitation services along with specialty units
  • First-time travelers may be considered for this position
