Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level III trauma center, requiring NM or compact RN license and TNCC certification.

Details

  • Level III trauma center Emergency Department with 48 beds and flex space
  • Patient population includes ESRD, cirrhosis, COPD, and psychiatric cases
  • Common diagnoses include ESRD, substance abuse disorders, psychological disorders, COPD, CHF, abdominal pain, and chest pain
  • Patient ratios are 4:1 in Main ED and 6:1 in Fast Track
  • Uses Zoll Defibrillator, Level One Blood Transfuser, QinFlow Blood Warmer, Hospira Plum360, Freestyle and iStat POC, and Ultrasound Guided IV
  • Cerner EHR used
  • Night shift schedule from 7P to 7A
  • Minimum of two weekends per schedule required
  • No call requirements
  • No floating requirements
  • Team nursing and Pod System with dedicated Social Worker and Unit Educator support

Requirements

  • Active RN license (NM or Compact) required
  • Required certifications: ACLS, PALS, BLS, and TNCC (must be AHA-issued)
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • 2 years of Emergency Department experience preferred
  • RN ADN required
  • Must have skills in trauma, stroke, STEMI, sepsis, and moderate sedation care

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency care across a wide range of trauma, medical, and psychiatric cases
  • Various Trauma Level I, II, and III cases are flown into the facility due to its regional location
  • Work alongside an Interim ED Manager and Clinical Coordinator with team-based support structure
  • First-time travelers may be considered for this position
