Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a high-acuity, fast-paced Emergency Department requiring BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications.
Details
- Emergency Department with 4 secure psychiatric holding beds, 25 procedure rooms, and 8 hallway beds
- High-acuity patient population including NEHI cardiac patients, DKA, sepsis, trauma, and stroke cases
- Patient ratio of 4:1 with flexibility during acute surges
- Uses U/S for IV insertion, Lucas Device, Hotline Rapid Infuser, Alaris pumps, and Pyxis
- EMR system is Sunrise/Allscripts
- Shift schedule is 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- 12-week assignment
- No floating required
- Every other weekend required for contract labor
Requirements
- Active RN license (NH state or compact) required at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of ED experience in a hospital setting required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills required
- Strong communication skills with patients and peers required
- Strong understanding of medical terminology required
- US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
- No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Provide emergency care across trauma, stroke, cardiac, orthopedic, and psychiatric cases
- Perform procedures including laceration repair, U/S IV insertion, IO insertion, eye exams, and EKGs
- Work under chief-complaint-based protocols allowing ordering of labs, EKGs, x-rays, and medications
- No hooded shirts or sweatshirts permitted per dress code for safety reasons
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; no local candidates accepted
- Motivated, adaptable team players with strong problem-solving skills are a strong fit for this unit
