Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a night shift position requiring BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications plus hospital ED experience.

Details

  • Emergency Department setting with 4 secure Annex beds, 25 procedure rooms, and 8 hallway beds used around the clock
  • Patient population includes multiple comorbidities, complex cardiac conditions, DKA, sepsis, trauma, stroke, and psychiatric patients
  • Patient ratio of 4:1 with flexibility during acute surges
  • Uses U/S for IV insertion, Lucas Device, Hotline Rapid Infuser, Alaris pumps, and Pyxis
  • EMR system is Sunrise/Allscripts
  • Shift schedule is 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM over a 12-week assignment
  • No floating required
  • Every other weekend required for contract RNs

Requirements

  • Active RN license (NH or compact) required at time of consideration
  • Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of recent hospital ED experience required
  • Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills required
  • Working knowledge of EKG interpretation preferred
  • No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency care across trauma, stroke, cardiac, psychiatric, and general medical cases
  • Perform procedures including laceration repair, orthopedic trauma care, U/S guided IV insertion, IO insertion, eye exams, and EKGs
  • Work under chief-complaint-based protocols allowing initiation of labs, EKGs, x-rays, and medications prior to physician evaluation
  • Scrub attire required with no hooded shirts or sweatshirts for safety reasons
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; no local candidates accepted
  • First-time travelers may be considered
