Description

American Traveler is seeking an RN Nurse Navigator/Charge Nurse for a high-volume Emergency Department, requiring trauma center experience and TNCC/ACLS certification.

Details

• Work in a busy hospital Emergency Department with 48 headwalls plus approximately 25 additional treatment spaces
• Unit staffed by approximately 80 team members including Charge Nurses, Flow Navigators, RNs, Paramedics, ED Techs, and Unit Clerks
• Acuity-based patient ratios
• Uses emergency, trauma, and critical care equipment including GE, Stryker, and Plum 360
• Meditech EMR
• 12-hour shifts from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM
• 13-week assignment

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Required certifications: TNCC, ENPC or PALS, ACLS, BLS, CPI
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in the specialty required
• Trauma experience in a Level 1 or 2 Trauma Center preferred
• 2+ years of experience in a high-volume ED preferred
• Strong clinical and rapid patient assessment skills required
• Ability to recognize changes in patient condition and apply critical thinking
• Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Additional Information

• Serve as Nurse Navigator/Charge Nurse overseeing patient flow and ED operations
• Perform procedures including moderate sedation, RSI, CPR, PIV/IO, splinting, EKG, blood transfusion, and TNK administration
• Provide cardiac monitoring, stroke assessment, trauma assessment, resuscitation, and sepsis workups
• Best fit is a self-motivated team player who works collaboratively
• Navy scrub color required
• Shift begins 15 minutes prior to start time for huddle and patient care handoff
• No food or drink permitted in patient care areas and no personal bags allowed in patient care areas
• Full 30-34 minute lunch clock-out/in required each shift
• No gaps in work history equaling 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• Must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates will not be considered
