Job Description
An experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) for a busy Level I/II ED environment. The RN will provide high-quality emergency care to patients with varying levels of acuity and must be comfortable working in a fast-paced setting.
Requirements
Minimum 1.5 years of recent Level I or Level II ED experience, OR 2+ years of recent Level III/IV ED experience
Active Massachusetts RN license
BLS, ACLS, TNCC, and PALS — all must be active and unexpired
Ability to independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips
Must identify heart blocks and pass a Telemetry Test on Day 1 with a score of 85% or higher
Previous travel experience is preferred, not required
Epic experience is preferred
Critical care experience is preferred
Must be flexible with floating to Psych ED and Pediatric ED
Pediatric ED assignment involves patients age 15+, unless the candidate has previous pediatric experience
Patient & Department Details
Patient ratio: 1:4–5, depending on acuity
Very busy Emergency Department
Up to 120 treatment areas
Approximately 350–440 patients per day
Travelers will not be assigned to trauma rooms during the BMC assignment
