Description

American Traveler is hiring a Travel RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2 years of ED experience and multiple advanced certifications at a Level III trauma center.

Details

  • trauma center Emergency Department with 48 beds and flex space
  • Patient population includes ESRD, cirrhosis, COPD, and psychiatric cases
  • Common diagnoses include ESRD, substance abuse disorders, psychological disorders, COPD, CHF, abdominal pain, and chest pain
  • Patient ratios are 4:1 in the Main ED and 6:1 in Fast Track
  • Utilizes Zoll Defibrillator, Level One Blood Transfuser, QinFlow Blood Warmer, Hospira Plum360, Freestyle and iStat POC, and Ultrasound Guided IV equipment
  • Uses Cerner EHR
  • Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Minimum of two weekends required per schedule
  • No call requirements
  • No floating requirements
  • Unit utilizes a team nursing and Pod System with a dedicated Social Worker and Unit Educator

Requirements

  • Active RN license (New Mexico or Compact) required
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC (must be AHA-issued)
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
  • RN ADN education required
  • Experience with trauma, stroke, STEMI, sepsis, and moderate sedation required

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency care across a broad patient population including trauma, stroke, STEMI, sepsis, and psychiatric cases
  • Work within a Level III trauma center that receives Level I, II, and III trauma cases via air transport due to facility location
  • Supported by a Unit Educator and dedicated Social Worker within the department
  • 13-week assignment length
