Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a night shift assignment at a high-volume academic medical center, requiring Level I/II trauma experience and a Florida or compact RN license.

Details

  • Adult Emergency Department within an academic medical center setting
  • One of the highest-volume Emergency Departments in the country
  • 12-hour night shifts (7p-7:30a) with variable days
  • 36 hours per week with weekends and holidays required
  • No block scheduling
  • Floating required with flexibility essential for the role

Requirements

  • Active FL or compact RN license required at time of consideration
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • PALS or ENPC certification required
  • TNCC certification preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of Emergency Department RN experience required
  • Most recent 12 months must include experience at an academic medical center (preferred) or a Level I/II Trauma Center in a major metropolitan area
  • Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience required
  • Recent experience in a Level I or Level II Trauma Center required
  • Recent EPIC EMR experience required
  • No employment gaps greater than 30 days without explanation
  • At least 1 professional reference dated within the last 12 months required

Additional Information

  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be considered for this position
  • No RTO permitted during the first 2 weeks of the assignment
  • Maximum of 10 days RTO allowed for the 13-week contract
  • Unplanned time off may result in contract cancellation if missed shifts are not made up
  • Blackout dates for RTO include 11/26-28, 12/24-12/25, and 12/31
  • All new hires must pass a specialty-specific competency exam and an EKG exam, including rhythm mapping and interpretation, with a minimum score of 80% and 100% accuracy on lethal rhythm identification
  • Candidates not meeting the EKG competency requirement will need additional remedial training beyond Day Two of orientation
  • Unit Manager interview required as part of the hiring process
