Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a high-volume academic medical center, requiring Level I/II Trauma Center experience and an active FL or compact RN license.

Details

  • Work in a high-volume Adult Emergency Department at an academic medical center
  • 12-hour night shifts (7p–7:30a) on a variable day schedule
  • 36 hours per week with no block scheduling
  • Weekend and holiday coverage required
  • Floating required with flexibility essential to the role

Requirements

  • Active FL or Compact RN license required at time of submission
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • PALS or ENPC certification required
  • TNCC certification preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of Emergency Department RN experience required
  • Most recent 12 months of experience must include an academic medical center (preferred) or a Level I/II Trauma Center in a major metropolitan area
  • Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience required
  • Recent experience in a Level I or Level II Trauma Center required
  • Recent EPIC EMR experience required
  • No employment gaps greater than 30 days without explanation
  • Minimum of 1 professional reference dated within the last 12 months required

  • Provide emergency care to adult patients in a nationally recognized academic medical center setting

  • All new RN hires must pass a specialty-specific competency exam and an EKG exam, including rhythm mapping and interpretation, with a minimum score of 80% and 100% accuracy on lethal rhythm identification
  • Candidates not meeting EKG competency requirements will complete remedial training beyond Day Two of orientation
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify as a traveler (no local candidates)
  • No RTO permitted during the first 2 weeks of the assignment
  • Maximum of 10 RTO days allowed for the 13-week contract
  • Blackout dates for RTO include 11/26-28, 12/24-12/25, and 12/31
  • Unplanned time off may result in contract cancellation if missed shifts are not made up
