Join a leading acute-care hospital in Asheville, North Carolina, as a Travel RN in the Emergency Department (ER) for a 16-week contract covering the holiday season. As a Travel RN in the Emergency Department, you will be part of a team that serves a diverse community, with over 120 languages spoken in the area. The department is known for its teamwork and welcoming atmosphere, making it an ideal environment for healthcare professionals. You will be working in a unit with 101 beds and a typical patient ratio of 4:1, which may increase to 7:1 for ED behavioral holds.

Unit Specifics:

  • Type of Equipment: Baxter pumps, GE monitors
  • Documentation System: Cerner
  • Unit Staffing Description: Techs available, work in cardiac monitoring unit and internal processing area, triage, unit clerks days and nights

Scheduling Requirements: Every other weekend is required, and you must be flexible to meet the needs of the department. Note that RTO/special scheduling will not be accommodated.

Certifications Required:

  • ACLS
  • BLS
  • PALS
  • TNCC
  • CPI before Date of Hire
  • NIHSS
  • ENPC

Hiring Profile Requested Skill Set:

  • 2 years of experience in a Level II trauma center or comprehensive stroke center
  • High volume ED experience (>100,000 visits)
  • At least 1 year of experience in an ER setting
  • Teamwork mentality and ability to coach and provide real-time feedback
  • Flexibility to work in all areas of the ED

Dress Code: Required uniform is navy scrubs. Attendance policy will be provided on day 1.
